My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Heron's Rest recently and our time there was wonderful. The location is perfect (walkable but still quiet due to being in a courtyard), the accommodations were superb, and the food pantry, stocked with breakfast items was beyond our expectations. We travel often, and always try to stay at short term rental apartments and houses rather than hotels, and the support provided by Sorcha at Huron's Rest was by far the most outstanding we have ever experienced. As an example, we were heading out on a Sunday morning and couldn't get the dishwasher started, so we sent Sorcha a message and left for our day in Galway. Not only did she find a service company to come out on a Sunday while we were gone, but she came over and did our dishes for us. The location is perfect: peaceful and right on the river, yet only a short stroll from Galway's Latin Quarter, restaurants, pubs, and shops. It made exploring the city incredibly easy while still feeling like a quiet retreat at the end of the day. The accommodation itself was immaculate, beautifully designed, and exceptionally comfortable. Everything was thoughtfully equipped, and the breakfast hamper with delicious local produce was a lovely touch. Communication throughout was excellent, with clear instructions and a seamless check-in process. It was obvious that a great deal of care has gone into creating a place where guests feel genuinely welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend The Heron's Rest to anyone visiting Galway. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Read Less

Lovely place to rest and relax for adventuring in and near Galway. The townhouse has many amenities and is decorated beautifully with herons! The breakfast hamper is delicious, and has plenty to make lunches as well. We took the train in and it was only a short 10 minute walk away. The view and location are outstanding. There are nothing but overwhelming positive things to say about Heron's Rest. We stayed in the 2BR townhouse and it was beyond perfection. We traveled with our college junior studying abroad and a friend and the space was roomy, comfortable and perfect for our trip. The four floors, three bathrooms, tub, fabulous beds and linens met the mark. The kitchen was beyond stocked with both food (breakfast hamper) and supplies, you could have cooked gourmet meals. The location is better than any in Galway. Check in was super easy and contactless (if that is your thing) and the parking was so easy and we very much appreciated (you have to pay in advance and a bit extra per day, but totally worth it in Galway). The digital instructions were great and easy and we were lucky to meet our host briefly, she is lovely, as were her cleaning crew we met on the way out. We have traveled all over the world and used airbnb type stays in all, this one is most definitely at the top of our list of favorites. Recommend without any hesitation. 5*s, BOOK! Read Less
